디지탈 워터 파빌리온 <Digital Water Pavilion> MIT 건축가들이 ‘디지털 워터 전시관(Digital Water Pavilion)'을 개발했다. 이 전시관에는 벽도 없고, 문도 없다. 대신 흐르는 물이 벽을 만들고, 문을 만들 뿐이다. 떨어지는 물방울들을 컨트롤하는 센서가 장착돼 있어 사람들이 이 곳에 들어가려고 접근하면, 일시적으로 물을 멈추고 출입구를 만들어준다. 또한 건물의 외벽을 감싸는 물 커튼에는 대규모 잉크젯 프린터기로 새긴 듯 텍스트, 편지, 패턴, 영상 등을 투사할 수 있다. 위아래로 움직일 수 있는 커다란 피스톤이 전시관 지붕을 떠받친다. 피스톤 높이에 따라 지붕 높이 조절이 가능해, 바람의 영향을 많이 받는 날에는 천장이 낮은 편이다. 전시관 문을 닫을 때는 전체 지붕을 땅에 내리면 된다. 마법을 부린 듯 건물을 공중에 띄우고, 순식.. 더보기
병에 그린 아트...<Beck’s Bottle Art> 8월 1일부터 특별한 라벨을 단 벡스가 등장한다. 벡스는 지난 20여 년간 트레이시 에민, 채프먼 형제 등 영국현대예술의 ‘빅네임’들을 후원하며, 이들의 작품이 부착된 한정판 맥주를 시판한 바 있다. 이름하여 ‘벡스 캔버스(Beck’s Canvas)’라는 이 행사로, 특히 올해는 떠오르는 신인 아티스트들의 작품을 만날 수 있다.벡스는 런던 왕립예술학교(RCA)와 함께 4인의 떠오르는 신예 아티스트들을 선정, 이들에게 ‘맥주병 캔버스’를 제공했다.
